My wife's mother is Joyce (Dickover) Lindley. In short, Henry Dickover is my wife's 4th great grandfather. I've found some helpful information here. We live in Ti ton County, Indiana, and there are many Dickovers and relatives in this area. Would be most interested in your book once it is completed. Also, the Essig/Bosler genealogy book (that my mother-in-law has) a lot of the information on the descendents of Sa uel E. and Emma (Essig) Dickover. |

My father was Ralph (b. 01-04-06 & d. 06-29-90). His brother was Ivan. Their father was Samuel (b10-17-1872 & d. 03-27-1974 at 101. They all lived in Hamilton Co. IN. I grew up in Otterbein, IN. Went to IU. Taught in Hammond, IN for 33 yr. Am retired and am president of Hammond Community Concert Asociation since 1974. I tutor and volunteer for my church and edit the Newsletter for the Lake Co. IN Retired Teachers Association. I have extensive info on some of the Dickovers and the ESSIG family, Samuel's wife, Magdeline's maiden name. I also have info on the NASH family in Tipton Co. IN. Note: Craig's great, great grandmother, Bonnie Dickover passed away Oct. 1999 at 100 (wife of Ivan). Keep up the good work on family ties. |

I grew up close to Tipton IN and every year we attended the Dickover Family Reunion. This slowly faded away in the mid-80s. In fact, I don't remember any Dickovers in attendance, it was primarily the Quear branch descendants. Howe er, there were great photographs from each year's reunion going back to the 1880s. I remember my mother (Betty) saying that a relative had asked for all the photographs to be sent to him -- were they sent to you? I had been to the old Rosewood Movie and my mom and dad were at Aunt Peg and Uncle Wally's. I went there and was talking to Grandpa Pye and told him about the movie I saw with Jesse and Frank James. "I knew Frank and Jesse" said Grandpa. They used to come into my father's tavern in Mankato. I found out Grandpa used to sweep the floors and he said he sat on Jesse James lap one day and Jesse bought him a sasparilla. Quite an eye opener for a 10 yea old. Neat page.
