Poor Alex- he was already almost full grown when we adopted him. As a result, he really doesn't have any authentic puppy pictures. Drowsey, on the other hand, was acquired at three months of age. At that time, he weighed in at only 11 pounds. We were told that he would probably be about 40 pounds full grown- WRONG. I guess the fact that all he ate was cedar chips from his pet store bedding for a month straight wasn't taken into account when calculating his full grown stature. Drowsey just didn't seem to understand that cedar chips have no nutritional value. He pooped them for the first two days we had him.
Then, there is little Chuckles Shnuckles. We obtained his napping carcass from Animal Welfare League when he was only eight weeks old. He was so calm and peaceful in his cage, but things really did change when he arrived home. The first night he was shacked up with Alex, his "momma," because we didn't yet have his crate. About every fifteen minutes, Alex's distinctive growl could be heard. This lasted all night. The next night, while Chuck had his own crate, he wasn't fond of being alone. He protested, LOUDLY. We couldn't believe how loud that cute, little, tranquil puppy was. He would't stop. This repeated for the next few months. James wasn't pleased, to say the least. Well, at least he was cute. Now he is all nappy and eats poopy from the backyard.
