Hi, My name is Doris and I am from Tonkawa, OK. On my page you will find information on my hometown, angels and genealogy. I am interested in angel stories, so if you have a good angel story send it to me and I will put it on my page.
Welcome to Tonkawa, the Wheatheart of Oklahoma!
Just so you will know where we are find an Oklahoma map and look at the north central part of the state. We are right on I-35. Can't miss us. Stop in for a cup of coffee or hot chocolate. Tonkawa is an Indian name meaning, 'They all stay together'. Our population is about 3400. Our little community has a number of churches where you can Worship our Lord. Tonkawa is the home of Northern Oklahoma College. They enroll around 2,000 each year. The girl's basketball team, Lady Maverick's, coached by Leo Canaday, placed 3rd place in the National Basketball Tournament in 1975. In 1979 they were National Champions.
