"Being a Christian Witness Wherever God Puts You"

I have learned to see that we are ALL in a mission field.  It would almost do us good to NOT distinguish between home missions and foreign missions.  Some will go on a foreign missions trip and witness and pray with people everywhere they go, yet in their homeland they rarely share.  Let's not forget that EVERYWHERE we go is a mission field.

That brings me up to today's specific message on being a 24/7 Christian wherever God puts you.

I am NOT an evangelist by calling, but in Timothy, Paul, by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, told Timothy to do the work of an evangelist!
See II Timothy 4:5

Even though we are NOT of this world (thank God!). God says in
I Corinthians 5:9-11 that we are not to be cut off from all of sinful mankind as then we would need to go out of this world (verse 11 is another devotion, which I would like to get into in another devotion).

I have learned recently to always look for opportunities to share Christ (I miss opportunities still, but I'm learning). Even in activities that we enjoy doing that are not sinful (sports, hobbies, activities, etc.), God has people there that He may want us to minister to.  Did you ever think that just maybe God put the desire for that sport, hobby, or activity in you!  But we are
NEVER to compromise our walk with Christ.

There are boundaries to all that we do.  If you have to sin/compromise to try to share Christ with a certain group of people OR find yourself being pulled down spiritually, then my good guess would be that you are NOT called to that activity or social group.

Almost a year ago, my interest in pool/billiards grew.  I found it was something I really wanted to do and could do it well.  I've joined leagues and played in some small tournaments. I still have a ways to go as to my abilities. But I ended up having God open up a whole new ministry to pool players, and also to Christians who want to play but are not STRONG in most environments where you find pool tables.  Thus the birth of yet another ministry – Christian Pool Players Association (CPPA) that has a new website (check it out) at:
www.geocities.com/pool4Christ/

Look at our best example Jesus. He had the false religious leaders in an uproar saying Jesus hung out with (was a friend) of publicans and “sinners”.  But Jesus NEVER let them bring Him down to their level (i.e. sin).  People accused Him, but they were WRONG!
See
Matthew 9:10-13 and Matthew 11:19

To the surprise of some of you, NOT all unsaved people will come to a church or evangelistic crusade to get saved. As a matter of fact, the percent that do get saved that way is quite small.

YOU NEED TO GO TO THEM IN THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.

The Bible says:  “SEND (thrust out – Greek word is
Ekballo) forth laborers….”  Matthew 9:37, 38.

“…GO YE into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” Mark 16:15

Stop expecting the unsaved to come to us, as few will.
WE NEED TO GO TO THEM!

I would like to end today's devotion with this quote,
when we ask where should I go,
GO HERE, GO THERE, WHEREVER SOULS ARE PERISHING”.

In His Service,
Jim (BibleFood@aol.com)
