“Another Gospel”

I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Galatians 1:6

This is an interesting study that we are going to glean from the book of Galatians. The book of Galatians primarily deals with a group of believers who were saved “by GRACE alone through FAITH alone”. A group of people called Judaizers (religious legalists of that time) are trying to convince the believers that GRACE and FAITH alone are not sufficient to obtain SALVATION, but that they could NOT be a true believer unless they were CIRCUMCISED and kept the LAW OF MOSES.

This brings me to our main passage for today’s devotion, which deals with
“another gospel”.

In the Greek there are two words translated
“another” but they are quite different in meaning. To keep it simple, we will give two basic descriptions for these two Greek words. One of the Greek words is “Allos” and the other is “Heteros”.

Allos means “another of the same sort”. Example: “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another [Gk. Allos] Comforter [Holy Spirit], that he may abide with you for ever” - John 14:16 The Holy Spirit is Another [Allos] just like Jesus.

Heteros means “another of a different sort”. Our main text - “I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another [Gk. heteros] gospel” Galatians 1:6

This passage
(v.6 ) uses the word “heteros”. Why? Because Paul, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, was telling these believers that this message they were falling for was not like the gospel from God leading to salvation, but was contrary to and in conflict with the Gospel leading to salvation.

Are you receiving from a
“heteros gospel” ?

This is a day and age when we must be careful not to be pulled into an opposing message to that which brought us to salvation,
through GRACE and FAITH alone! See Eph. 2:8,9

Some will say, “but what about good works?”

I believe in good works but they are the outcome of a changed life, not what changes us.

If you truly are saved, you will have good works. If you have NO good works, I would question if you are saved.

WORKS DO NOT SAVE YOU! BUT IT IS JUST AS NATURAL FOR A SAVED PERSON TO HAVE GOOD WORKS AS A LIVING PERSON TO BREATH! IT JUST HAPPENS! IF NOT, YOU’RE DEAD!

Make sure that you are serving the JESUS of the Bible and not
“another “ (i.e. heteros) one that SAVES you because of what YOU do (works). You could never be good enough to save yourself (Isa. 64:6 & Rom. 3:10).

If this sounds foreign to you - a salvation NOT BASED on YOUR works - I challenge you to prayerfully read GALATIANS.

I plan to share more on Galatians in the future.

BE FREE and SERVE JESUS WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND BELIEVE ME, THE WORKS AND FRUIT WILL BE THERE!
