"Let Go and Let God"

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. - Galatians 2:20

Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
- Matthew 16:24,25

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. - Colossians 3:1-4

Those are great and life changing scriptures.

Now lets briefly think on those words,
“Let go and let God.”
We all need to do that but we often have a hard time doing it. We battle with wanting to be in control, yet we know in our heart that God must ultimately be in control of our lives!

This takes a dying to self, i.e.,
“my” will, “my” way of doing things, and “my” goals, and any other “my” that are not Gods will! Gods will must be FIRST and FOREMOST in our lives. My will must get in line with Gods will.

Man cannot do this without a transformation of the heart (which starts at salvation). But even though this giving up of
“my” will starts at salvation, it doesn’t end there. It is a continual dying to "self will" to thus live in Gods will. Oh that we may walk free in Jesus, oh that we may learned the blessedness of Letting go and letting God!

POEM:
As children bring their broken toys
With tears for us to mend,
I brought my broken dreams to God, my friend.
But instead of leaving Him in peace to work alone,
I tried to help in ways that were my own.
At last I snatched them back again and cried,
"How can you be so slow?"
"My child," He lovingly replied,
"You never did let go."

Closing Prayer:
Heavenly Father,
I want to be a Christian that will let go of the self life and live the Christ centered life. I ask that you make the above scriptures and others in the Bible alive to me, so that I can start walking in a freedom that only comes as I "let go and let God." I ask this in Jesus Name, AMEN!

Have a Jesus blessed week,
Jim
