"Let It Go!"
"And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you." - Ephesians 4:32
Today's devotion is from my heart and personal experience. I have made it a personal goal to be quick to forgive all people in my life who may have wronged me or I have any issues with (i.e., unforgiveness). I desire that whenever my days on this earth are over (soon or many years from now), that I will die with no unforgiveness in my heart. To this end I strive daily.
I have been thought to be "crazy" at times for helping or being an encouragement to those who have wronged me in the past. But I just have a peace in my heart knowing that there is not one person on earth that I am in unforgiveness with! Can you say that? If you can, you understand where I'm coming from. If you can't relate because you have unforgiveness in your heart, then all I can say is, I feel sorry for you as you are destroying your own life and God's plan for you by your unforgiveness.
That does NOT mean if someone is abusive, in an affair, etc., that you keep putting up with it. Sometimes tough love is required for your protection and to get the other person to see that their actions are not acceptable. Tough love is NOT staying in unforgiveness with a person, but loving them enough to not allow them to repeat their patterns without consequences.
I really believe that this for the many of you that are struggling with unforgiveness (or know someone who is). Some of you have had terrible things happen to you by mentally sick, abusive, controlling people, but I'm telling you that you must forgive them- unforgiveness is not the answer!!! Forgiveness is an essential step to your own healing be it physical, emotional, or spiritual!!!
I also believe with all my heart that as you forgive others, you will experience more peace (with God) and will have no regrets. It is also a command of the Word of God. As you obey, it will open the door for God to move more freely in your life. Forgive today!

Pray this closing prayer:
Heavenly Father, I have been wrongfully hurt (wounded) by others in ways that You know. I ask that You help me by faith to forgive those who have done wrong to me. I will believe that I have forgiven them, not because I necessarily "feel" forgiveness, but because I love You and with all my heart I am obeying Your Word. Thank you that my emotions will get in line with this prayer until I have NO ill feelings toward anyone.
