On March 20, 1998 at 3:35 pm Stoneville was changed forever by a powerful tornado that swept through town, destroying much of the business district. Two people were killed and the appearance of the town was permanently altered as the landmark historical buildings were destroyed.

"And suddenly a great tempest (whirlwind/tornado) arose"    Matthew 8:24

"Destruction will come... suddenly" 1 Thessalonians 5:3

"...there was so little warning" - Stoneville resident

"This family left their mobile home just moments before the twister struck..."

CIM's Junior MIT (Alex) and Rev. Haltom assisted in tornado debris clean up and family counseling
