This is an old lineage, which like all toponomycal family names,
indicates the place of origin: Verrecchie is in fact a village near the town
of Cappadocia, in the Province of l’Aquila, which should be considered the
place of origin of the coat of arms. The Verrecchias, who were numerous in
central-southern Italy, have left traces of their origins thanks to certain
illustrious ancestors, who distinguished themselves in the field of science,
and in the priesthood. Among these, we should remember Anacleto Verrecchia,
translator of various works of philosophy by German authors, and Giuseppe,
writer and poet; the author of "Canto di primavera" (Song of Spring),
published in Naples. The coat of arms of the Verrecchia lineage, which is
