Wells

Wells has only a population of around 9,400and because of its magnificent cathedral qualifies as England's smallest cathedral city. It lies near the southern slopes of the Mendip Hills. Wells gets its name from a spring fed from the underground water of the Hills and can now be found on the grounds of the Bishop's Palace. Twice a week Wells has a market day in the medieval market place.
