Bazil Hayes & Greenville Travis (202) - 1856 Lawrence County, KY
"This indenture made the 15th day of March in the year 1856 between Bassel
Hays and his wife & of the one part and Green Travis of other part willingly
that the said Bassel Hays and his wife for and in consideration of one hundred
dollars of lawful money of this commonwealth to them in hand paid by the
said Travis at or before the unsealing and delivery present the receipt where
is hereby acknowledged have bargained and sold and by these present do and
each of them doth bargain and sell unto the said Green Travis his heirs and
assigned a certain tract or parcel of land and bounde as follows to ?. Beginning
at the Stafford ? white oak and maple thence running thebackbone of the point
with the ridge so far as the point with the ? As far ? Hays ? reaches on
that ridge ? Thence to include all the ? p? on the ? lick fork pf Brushy
Fork where the said Travis now lives to include all the ? Thence the said
Hays owns on the ? Of the described fork to the creek together with all and

Whatsoever herewith belonging or ? to have and to hold the said described land with the ? and all said ? the promise and a? before mentioned ? ? Travis his heirs and assigns ? ? ?

O.D.Botner - Greenville Travis (558) - 1856 Lawrence County, KY
"This indenture made and Entered into the first day of October in the year 1856 between O.D. Botner and Jane his wife of the first part and Green Travis of the second part do witness ? that the said O. D. Botner and in wife in consideration of seventy-five dollars of Lawful money of this Commonwealth to them in hand paid by the said Green Travis at or before the unsealing and delivery of these present the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have bargained and sold and by these present do and each of them with bargain and sell unto the said Green Travis his heirs and assigns a certain Tract or parcel of Land lying and being in the County of Lawrence State of Kentucky and on the Brushy Fork a Branch called Nucom below where Travis now lives. Beginning on 4 bushes and white oak marked 1' (?) of near the mouth of the first ? below the Back Lick(?) thence N75 E17Poles ? a maple & dogwood on the Bank of the Branch N 50 poles ? down the Branch to 2 Beeches & sourwood N37 E26 poles to a maple & large white oak at the mouth of that Branch on the Creek Bank thence down the creek on that side with the conditional line made between O. D. Botner & Travis thence up the point with the Conditional to the top of the ridge marker or near the top of the first ridge below the Branch described thence with that marker line to where we stoped thence on the the branch. The said Travis lines on all the land that O.D.Botner holds on that branch Thence to the beginning together with all and ? Lands and ? ? ? ?? whatsoever to the said Travis to have and to hold the described lands and ? ? unto the said Travis his heirs and assigns for ever and the said O.D. Botner and his wife for themselves and their heirs but from no other right will warrant or defend with all and singular the ? and ? before ? with the said Green Travis his heirs and assigns free from the claims of them the said O.D. Botner and his heirs and all person or persons whatsoever claiming through or by them shall well and as warrant and defend by these presents in witnes whereof the said O.D. Botner and his wife have ? set their hands and souls the day and year first above writen.

? John ? ? clerk of the Lawrence County Court certify that this instument of wrighting from O.D. Botner and Jane his wife to Green Travis was this day presented to me in my office by the parties. The same having been acknowledged before John H. Allison former clerk of the court to be his act and deed and filed for record whereupon the said ? together with this certificate hath been duly recorded in my office according to law given under my hand this 19th day of March 1859.
