History Of This Site

The Beginning

The Stone Table all started with a desire to have a web site. In 1997 I was introduced to the Internet and the fact that anyone could have a web site. That December, I went to a friends house and made the first edition of this site.

I couldn't do much with it because we did not have Internet capabilities for our computer. So for two or three months it went untouched. But in the meantime, I was learning about HTML. In February, we were able to get a new computer. As a result, I started to do many things with my site.

Since the beginning, I have wanted to use the site as a place to reach out and touch people. The title, The Stone Table, is an example of that.

Anyone familiar with C.S. Lewis' Narnia books will recognize the stone table as the place where Aslan was killed. Lewis wrote his books as an analogy of the Gospel. So Aslan represents Jesus, and the stone table represents the cross.

At first I consider it just a title, but as I grew in the faith and my site started to take more meaning, the stone table became more meaningful. We, as Christians, are to take up the cross and follow Jesus. So this site is a representation of my walk with Christ.

What my site is

My site is a place for Christians, mostly teens, to come and be uplifted. In sharing my testimony and my love for Christ, I hope to encourage the people who come to my site.

As a result, the various sections are made to have a positive influence on visitors. Christian Stories and Articles is a great example. I kept getting various forwards with these uplifting stories in them. Instead of sending them on, I decided that I would place them on a page in my site. So, this page, is a place for you to be uplifted and encouraged.

Another part, of my site, for helping people in their walk with Christ was the prayer page. I'd had a prayer page since I started, but it wasn't drawing any request's. I had left it alone for a long time, but then I became convicted that God wanted me to make it a bigger part of my site. So, I got a message board and The Prayer Room was born. It's pretty new right now, but I have high hopes for it.

One of the first things that I decided to do with my site, was to have a joke page. Thus, The Fun Pages came about. Lately I have aspired to make this into a place where families can come and enjoy the various clean jokes.

The about JC part of my site was originally a facts page telling about me. In the last couple of years, God has become more real to me and I wanted to share what He has done. So this page became a testimony about the things that my God has done.

And it continues..

The Stone Table is always going to be a work in progress. As well as adding on to the existing parts, I will probably come up with more pages to be a help to the Christian. So the voyage continues...

This banner is on here, because Geocities gave me a choice between a pop-up window and this, and I decided that this was the least annoying. So just ignore it.
