1) Mother and daughter team are doing some great classes (day and evening) and
their stock is growing daily.
I recommend them.
2) There's lots of fabric, threads and other notions. The best part I think for
people in that area is the large well-lit room at the back for classes.

They are a very friendly group with June Wilson as owner, Pam Lodding,
teacher, and Marie serving in the shop.
Classes include Jacobean Wall Hanging, Patchwork jacket, Embroidered Bear,
Heirloom Xmas Bead Tree, Golly Gosh wall hanging, Naive Bag and a sampler
quilt.
June has over 1000 bolts of fabric in stock, many of which I hadn't seen
before, and is expecting the full range of Thimbleberries to be delivered
shortly. They are happy to cut pieces as small as 10cm if required.
I can truly recommend a visit.

Craftpaks is in Heathmont shopping centre and again a great shop to browse, they have a smaller range of fabrics but apparently according to the owner they are expanding their quilting needs as they are now also teaching classes and are finding people are wanting more.

The name describes this shop perfectly. Mostly offcuts, end of rolls for curtains, bedding etc. but they also have rolls of pure cotton fabric $4 to $6 per metre. I have found timeless treasures and hoffman fabric usually the novelty fabrics, including a couple of great cat fabrics I haven't found anywhere else. Stock varies and if you don't buy it when you see it you miss out as another roll is usually not available. They did have a good choice of christmas fabric. Worth a visit if you are in the area. Anyone making dancing or calesthenics costumes would find a great variety of fabric.
