1\ They have a small but quality range of quilters fabrics, from florals to tone on tones. Also, they have a very good range of flannels. One thing I noticed was that they have one range of jewel tone fabrics in both flannels and quilters cotton. The work room is large and spacious, just behind the main part of the shop. Lovely quilts hanging everywhere and they also specialise in a range of hand made ceramic buttons, very nice. They are holding regular classes and workshops. HAMILTON

Anne's Glory Box
60-62 Beaumont Road
Phone:(049) 616 016
Fax: (049) 616 587
1) Directions for those who haven't been to Gloria McKinnon's shop in Newcastle (she owns Anne's G.B.): Hamilton is actually a suburb of Newcastle, and to get to Beaumont Street from the freeway which runs from Sydney north to ? (I don't know how far it goes before becoming an ordinary road again) you just turn off the freeway towards Newcastle. You actually cross Beaumont Street. Anne's G.B. is a block or so to the right of the intersection, its on a corner and has a large whitish marble exterior with arches at the front. Not hard to find. Treasure trove inside - especially if you are into making cloth dolls or fine embroidery as well as quilting. Displays of dolls (at least, when I am there for the cloth doll symposium) is "something else". Great shop for fabric and all sorts of other lushy sewaholic stuff! Definitely recommended

2) oh, and I nearly forgot my all time favourite that I drive two hours to Newcastle to visit- Anne's Glory Box!!!!!!!!!!
3)They have opened an antique centre in the front half of the building, its one of those multi stall style antique store. I had a squiz about a month ago, had a lot of bits and pieces, but there were no less than 3 treadles and antique sewing machines, as well as buttons and other sewing implements. Although some were more vintage than antique.

Heading south into Kempsey, get into the right hand lane and when you see the bridge, don't cross it, turn right onto Belgrave st and then as before. She sells a good range of patchwork fabrics as well as a lot of knits and fleece. She's not overpriced. (and her name IS Connie). She's getting a good reputation and is getting quite well known in NSW and interstate highway.

Well worth a visit, your SO can sit outside and look at the spectacular ocean views. Happy shopping I recommend it for a visit if going that way. I don't have the address but it is up a country road past the big banana - the sign isn't awfully big but it is there. a great view from the road too, narrow but relatively easy to drive in good weather.

Only FQ for sale in fabric BUT all her other goodies are just what we like. Little signs for carft people, novel items which she makes. Embroidery supplies. She does not take credit cards so that lessened how much I spent but I would like to order more novel items from her. Just right for angel presents

When you go south on the motorway, you take the Murwillumbah exit and you come almost into Murwillumbah and you have the old railway station on the left and you go straight through the roundabound and not into the township. It is the old Pacific Hwy. It winds around a lot through Burringbar and through the old Burringbar Range and you finally get to Mooball. They have black and white cow signs along the road. The shop is right in Mooball and worth a visit even if you have to brave the old Range.
