country and reproductions
I love this shop in Hobart. They carry a great range of reproduction fabrics...lots of Judie Rothermel and the 30's ranges as well as the lovely rich country fabrics, plus a smaller range of softer colours. They also have beautiful wool fabrics, many of which they dye themselves, as well as rug hooking, needlepunch, and lots of great trimmings and patterns.
There are three rooms full of gorgeous fabrics, as well as a large classroom and another room where Big Mal, the longarm quilter resides. Leonie and Deirdre do beautiful work with their quilting for their customers and I never do my own quilting any more.
All of this is topped off by a warm, welcoming and cosy atmosphere...what more could a girl ask for?

Great shop to visit and shop at..
Regular classes at reasonable prices.
modern -always has contemporary stuff on the walls .
Fabric selection ranges from marbled fabrics through to large print fabrics. Stocks the more modern prints, but still has traditional fabrics. Has some batiks and oriental prints. Fabrics are reasonably priced, in most cases less expensive than other quilt shops in the Hobart area.
Procion dyes also available.
Friendship days on Monday nights from 6.00pm to 10.00pm; Wednesdays from 10.00am to 4.00pm; and Fridays from 10.00am to 4.00pm. Cost for these is reasonable, $12.50, and includes tea and coffee. Bring a current project or something you need help with. All 'regulars' will give their opinion and help, as well as the store owner, Moira.
Encouragement given when the creative 'wall' has been reached.
Moira encourages you to either go that one step further (move out of your comfort zone,)or if you haven't quilted before, she will guide you through the process of making your first quilt.
