Very warm friendly shop with plenty of examples of the owner's work on disply to inspire you. Shop has a warm old fashioned feel to it. "Students" have become more like frioends and often drop in just to have a chat and a cuppa.
Rhonda Barry is the owner and does most of the classes herself. Emphasis is on traditinal methods of hand piecing, quilting and applique, but she also runs classes in modern quick methods to cater to her customers needs.

Lots of really 'pretty' florals,
very up to date with latest ranges from 'pretty' specialists such as
Robyn Pandolph, Three Sisters, etc in front of shop space. Second room
is huge and well stocked with just what you're looking for, classroom at
rear is lovely and well lit. Lots of changing display quilts and bags.
Wide selection of patterns, the most popular of which are available as
kits. Marcia and her staff are always friendly (know anyone who has
visited more than once by name) and most importantly newbies are given
the same service.

They have bought a house in Wonthaggi to be used solely for Patchwork and craft
related items. They and their family have been working very hard to be ready for
the opening day and it all sounds very exciting - friends who have seen it say
it will be a great new venue. There are seven rooms all devoted to Patchwork and
related goodies.
2) I went to this shop on a Saturday morning and it was very busy. Wonderful helpful
staff but I did not get to mee Jeanette as she had the day off.
There is the most amazing range of florals - pansies etc in the shop they
were into their water colour quilt stage and had lots of samples on the
wall. I managed to spend a good few dollars on some wonderful home dyed
fabrics. Well worth a visit.

This shop is run from the loungeroom of a private home (but don't let this
put you off - it's certainly worth a look), there are signs out the front -
usually under the tree on the front lawn.
Carol has a different range of fabrics from the Patchwork Tea House, not all
country colours, she has lots of scraps in baskets so you can pick exactly
what you want. Lots of fat quarters some cheaper than normal. Kits and
patterns also.

Originally a cheaper fabric store, it now has new owners -as of
January 19th 2000- and have a small supply of patchwork fabrics.
However, the intention is to move right into this area and they have
orders placed with most suppliers and I would say that by Easter it
will be well stocked. Very large and well lit area and I think will
also be running classes. Quilts on display, too. Friendly staff.

It has been opened by Pan Spurway and Julie
Vansittart. During the summer it will be open daily but during the
winter it is closed Monday.
It has been opened in what was the old
butter factory (this is a prime dairy area) and is next door to one of
Victoria's well known boutique breweries so there is something to
keep partners busy during a visit. It is all very new so as yet they
do not have a lot of materials but the place is very well set out with
old furnishings and lots of quilting

The owner of this shop opened it after Lincraft closed down in Moe. Our nearest fabric store was in Morwell, a 10 minute drive from Moe.
I was very happy when she opened the shop and she has catered to the needs of all sewers, even though her shop is not large. She has sewing, embroidery, cottons suitable for patchwork, basic and stretch fabrics, after 5 fabric, fat quarters, templates, wadding, iron on facing, threads...ie: as much as you can imagine. If she doesn't have what you want she will get it very quickly.
I think this store is fantastic in that it is supporting our hobbies and crafts, without having to go out of our town. I feel that we should all support our own fabric shops and encourage others to do the same.
