Beechworth Quilters Cottage is now in a historic 1860 cottage in Ford Street ( main street of beechworth ) across the road from previous shop. Lots of naive stitchery patterns and a lovely lot of antique fabrics.

Also in town..a fabulous Bakery - my son wanted to buy one of everything, small Teddy Bear shop - and an old-fashioned sweets shop. [On the way to Albury do a detour and go across to the old town of Beechworth. There is a lovely shop there, in the main street, in actually a _couple_ of old buildings. It has lovely gifts and crafts, also some fabrics - I actually bought my first "patchwork" fabric there which went into my first sampler. It is a lovely shop, but the whole town is worth the detour to look at the lovely old buildings and gardens<.BR> 2) what a lovely quilters cottage friendly enthusiastic girls with a great range of their own quilt designs and patterns available worth the detour on the freeway from wangaratta or follow through from wodonga

YACKANDANDAH

Again, no fabric shops per se, but lots of antique shops with lots of Singer sewing machines. $25 - $375, pity I had no room left in the car.
