The shop is open 9-5:30 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Thursday 9-8:30 and Saturday 9-2:30.
There is an extensive range of quilting fabrics, notions, some books, threads and they sell Pfaff and Janome sewing machines. They also have a very large back room section where they conduct classes in quilting, embroidery, sewing, etc.
Carol's would have to be the best quilting supplies shop I have come across in Perth. The range of fabrics is amazing and the staff go out of their way to help with even the most insignificant request. No I have no affiliation with the shop - I just think it is fantastic.

The ads in AP&Q say 'behind the Bed Shed', and its true. This is definitely not a cottage, and probably the best shop display of quilts I have seen. The interior is two floors high, which allows plenty of space for hanging quilts, and makes the entire shop feel very spacious. A good range of fabrics, including some non-traditional Aboriginal designs from near Kalgoorlie and also other Australian fabrics. I met the new owner (Lyn), and had a long talk about all sorts of quilting things. She owns another shop In Canning Vale
2)They have a very large range of lovely fabrics and probably the largest range of calico and homespun (with the Australian meaning of those words not American) that I have found in Perth. They have an above average range of books and notions. They have large tables which if you buy your fabrics there or take one of their extensive classes you can prearrange to sandwich your quilts on. Their classes cover quilting and appliquéing. They cater for visitors by providing a prearranged service of picking clients up from the train station and driving them to the shop and then back to the train station. The shop can also be reached by bus. If you are driving you can not see the shop from the road and you need to look for the large Purple Bedshed sign and the shop is located behind them. The prices are very competitive and the service is great.
3)I go to most of the patchwork shops whenever I visit Perth, but I want to tell you of a particularly pleasant experience I had at CPC Balcatta.
It was not long after Lyn took over the shop. I was three quarters of the way through a quilt, using fabrics from my enormous stash, when I decided to make the quilt larger. This meant that I would need more of two of the fabrics. I couldn't remember where I had bought the fabrics, but one of them was at least four or five years old, and not one of those you see over and over. In fact I had not seen it again anywhere after I had bought it.
I spoke to Lyn on the phone as I live 500 km from Perth. She assured me that she would try to get these for me, although it might take a while if they weren't in Australia. 2 months later I had my fabrics and was
able to finish my quilt.
I thought it was remarkable that she went to so much trouble, and no ...... I did not buy several metres of fabric - I only needed one metre of each.

This shop carries many different craft supplies, including quilting and patchwork. I often go and get FQs there. They have a small but nice range of quilting fabric. There are also lots of little nick nacks to pretty up a quilt, eg. buttons, iron on transfers, charms, hangers, etc. If they do not have what you want in stock, please ask and they will try to get it in for you. They also run classes, and some of the classes covered are: patchwork and quilting, quilling, silk ribbon embroidery, window painting, Pergamino, shadow work and Brazilian embroidery, folded roses, lamp shades, lingerie, tassels, teddy bears, candlewicking, smocking, stump work, Christmas egg, know your sewing machine, folk art, stamping and mountmellick.
2)It is a fantastic shop and I go to lessons there twice a week.

Knightcraft has a very large range of patchwork fabrics. You can buy a membership for around $25 or $30 and you then get 20% off your purchases. There are a few sample quilts around the shop where the fabrics are. They have a lot of craft type goods too. I've found her prices to be very reasonable and the staff are helpful. There is a new stamp shop on the premises too - quite a
good range of stamps and stamp accessories

Handcrafters' House
shop 8, 53 The Crescent Midland.
I have taken several overseas visitors for a day trip in the new railway train to Mandurah, 55 minutes from Perth. We then caught the free shuttle bus into Mandurah, lunch and a walk around the bay, a ferry boat to see all the lovely houses around the canals, and on the way back to the train station, stopped at Creative Patchwork and Sewing.
The girls have always been lovely, very knowledgeable and helpful. The shop is an Aladdin's Cave of quilty things, a pleasure just to look at. It would be such a shame if it was to close, so I am asking all West Australians quilters to pay it a visit..

One of the best features of the shop is the abundance of natural light so you can see eggzacly what the colours are. There is a great range of fabrics, over 3,000 I was told. Everything you need for patchwork is there. A table of $4.95, a table of $9.95 and then the more expensive. I noticed the Simplicity range of Australian fabrics there: a wattle print, a wildflower assortment, some homesteads and others. There are lots of quilts on display, some by Michelle Marvig, some local quilters AND for anyone from out of town there's even an elephant house with coffee & magazines (men's varieties too!) to occupy anyone who is waiting for you - or to sit in while you decide what to buy! The shop is not in the main shopping centre so anyone from out of the area may need a map to locate it.
2) What a treasure trove. Beryl has such a wonderful range of glorious fabrics. And lots of beautiful quilts displayed, to help with the inspiration. There are lovely friendly girls, too, working in the shop, who seem to enjoy helping with decision making. I love to do classes there. It doesn't really matter much, what the class is, or who is teaching it, it is just such a nice place to spend time. I would say my favourite class would be the Mystery Quilt, which Jenny runs twice each school term. Friday night classes run from 6pm to midnight, six frantic hours of sewing, only broken by Beryl's calls to feed us dinner and supper. We are so lucky to have a treasure of a shop here in Albany

I fell into this shop recently while on a trip north. They had an excellent range of fabric and a marvellous display of quilts hanging from every wall. Plently of choice from traditional designs to australian, aboriginal, lots of accessories, kits, I believe they do classes but they were very busy and I didn't get to speak to any staff. DH was with me!
Well worth a visit if you are a local or just passing through town.
Located opposite the old railway station.
