This page is dedicated to all pet and animal lovers. Also to a very wonderful little dog; Amber.
Amber was a pomeranian. She was born with a heart murmur, but I did not know this until after I picked the runt of the litter. She caught my eye immediately when I saw how small and frisky she was.
Amber loved to play baseball with my son and I.
I would throw the ball to my son, he would bat the ball, and Amber would go running after the ball and bring it back to me. We called her our back-catcher.
Amber suffered from epileptic seizures. One time after she came out of a seizure, she went looking for her food. She would pick up a nugget and walk a bit then drop it. She continued doing this until she had made a trail across my kitchen floor, into the family room and around the sofa.
I had a plastic basket on the front of my bike. I would tie Amber in the front, and we would bike together. She just loved it! A couple of times she got over excited when she saw another dog, cat, squirrel. She fell out of the basket and just hung there until I stopped to put her back in the basket. She was wearing a harness, so she wasn't choking.
Amber knew where Grandma's house was. If I even mentioned the name "Grandma", she would run to the back door and dance in circles until I let her out and put her in the car.
Amber loved to have her picture taken.
She is about 10 weeks old in this picture.
Amber broke her leg when she was 7 months old. The bright neon pink on her leg is her cast.
Can you see the expression in her face as she poses for this picture?
Every now and then Amber needed a flea bath! She did not like this very much!
Amber loved to be outside all the time. She is in the flower garden helping with the digging.
Amber relaxing on a hot summer day in the shade.
Amber started getting sick after the summer of 1995. She was slowing down. When we had her heart exrayed, it had expanded 4 1/2 ribs, when it should have only been 3 ribs. She was not in pain we were told, but her quality of life had diminished. She was 4 years old, when she died in my arms of a heart attack. I still miss her very much.
