Although I did not graduate with my classmates at Broomfield High, I have many fond memories of DeLaine and Paige and many others from Broomfield during our earlier years of school (from 3rd grade through 8th grade). How I found out about the Broomfield High web site was after I had sold a car (I work for HM Brown Auto Brokers in Englewood) to Kit Grieder's parents this past August of 1999. Kit graduated with me in 1982 and it was just a chance meeting with his folks. They were referred to HM Brown by their credit union and it just so happened I took the call. They didn't recognize my name and same with me. When they showed up at my office, I just freaked! His mom used to work the front desk at Broomfield High for year and I knew exactly who they were. Once they looked at me they knew exactly who I was as well - pretty neat! I had lost touch with Kit (we were high school friends), and his folks gave me his number in Washington, DC. I left him a voice mail and he called back and we talked for about an hour. Strangely enough at the same time, Todd Faucher (another high school friend from '82) had just signed up on the Broomfield High web site and had put the word out to everyone on the 1982 list that he was looking for me Kit knew where I was since I had just talked to him, so he sent the word back via Sam Grosheider and a few other people, telling Todd how to get a hold of me and next thing I know there's a voice mail from Todd at my office. Hadn't talked to him in about 10 years. He then told me about this web site and faxed me over a copy of everyone on it! Can't believe it's taken me a few months to sign up, but here I am!!! How's that for a story? Looking forward to getting in touch with a lot of people from 82. It do sn't surprise me that we have the most people signed up on this web site (I guess I broke the tie today at 31!). Whenever someone asked me where I was from (I lived out of state for 8 years), I was always real proud to say "Broomfield, Colorado". I would sually get a strange look from people and a reply of "sounds like it's in the middle of nowhere out in some field...anywhere near Denver?" Even as we were all growing up, we all knew we had a special class and a very close class. Especially right before w graduated. I remember being told by Mrs. Baab (best english teacher ever!) in a very touching way that she was really going to miss me and that she'd never forget me as well as everyone else.
