200. Johann Heinrich BODEY was born in 1720 in Grossen Rheuden, in Hildesheim, Germany. He served in the military. Johann Heinrich Bode (Henry Bode) had served in the miltary for 38 years and 6 months. When he returned to Germany (after the Revolutionary War in the United States) he was 56 years and 5 months. He served in Lt. Colonel von Speth's Company and Major General von Riedesel's Regiment (which had been captured at the Battle of Saratoga in October, 1777). He ended up in Charlottsville, Albermarle County, Virginia. He served in this company with his son Frederich (Frederick). From where he was released and sent back to Germany is uncertain.

Heinrich (Henry) does not appear on the list of prisoners but is probably one of the older soldiers which von Speth sent home in August, 1779. The older troops were listed as "invalid". He was married to DNK UNKNOWN.
