6 c. flour
1 c. yellow corn meal
2 pkgs dry yeast
2 c. milk
1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 beaten eggs
1 1/2 sticks oleo or butter (3/4 cup)
Combine sifted flour, cornmeal, and yeast granuals and set aside. Melt the oleo and add milk, salt, and sugar. Heat over med. heat until luke warm. Add beaten eggs and 1/2 of the flour mixture. Add 1/2 the liquid, and beat well. continue until all of the ingredients are combined. Continue to beat well by hand or mixer.
Turn onto a well floured board and knead 8 to 10 times until you have a firm, smooth ball of dough. Place in well greased bowl, turning to coat all sides.
Cover and let rise in a warm place (72 degrees) for 1 hour. Punch down and divide in 2 pieces. Shape each into a load and place in well greased bread tins. Brush top with melted oleo or butter and let rise 1 hour.
Bake 40 to 45 minutes at 375 degrees.
