Spaghetti Sauce With Meat

(This was my late husband's own recipe)

2# hamburger(ground chuck)
1 c. original flavor bbq sauce
2 lg. onions, chopped
2 med. green peppers, chopped
2-4 oz. cans sliced mushrooms with stems& water
2-8 or 10 oz. cans tomato sauce
1 qt. canned tomatoes, cut up
2 TB. salt (or to your taste)
2 tsp. garlic powder or minced garlic (to taste)
1 tsp black pepper

Brown crumbled meat in a large kettle in 2 tb. vegetable oil. Add the onions, and green peppers and simmer for 30 min. Add the mushrooms, tomato sauce, and tomatoes. Add seasoning last. I like to add it gradually, you may like less or more. Stir frequently and let simmer for 1 hour or until it thickens. Serve over cooked angel hair spaghetti. Amount of which depends on the number of people you want to feed. 1# makes enough for 6 to 8 servings.
