  • Alabama football starts
Never mind.

After being ranked #3 in the country before the season started, there was only one place to go. Down.  And, boy have they.  As of September 30, their record is a paltry 2-3.  Alabama (In game order) has lost to UCLA, beat Vanderbilt, and lost to Southern Miss, and Arkansas, and then finally pulled one out versus South Carolina.

Yes, I'm still a BIG Alabama fan, and that's the reason it hurts me to see this team performing so poorly.  When does basketball season start?  I hear Alabama has a freshman that could have turned pro, but decided to play at least one year of college basketball.

  • Paula's page get a mug shot

Paula finally decided to put a picture of herself on the web page.  You can click here to go to her page, which provides more details about Paula or, you can simply view the picture to the right.

You know, after losing over 65 pounds, several dress sizes, and renewing your wardrobe several times (My poor wallet), you would think being able to get a picture and put it on the web page would be easy.

But, that has NOT been the case.  Only with some strong coercing was I able to get Paula to pose for a few shots.

  • Baby Madison arrives, and we get a visitor for a week

Paula's good friend, Angela (who seems to have been pregnant for nearly year) finally gave birth to Madison Reagan Hardin.  Mother, baby, and, yes, even the daddy are doing fine.

Madison (Pronounced Medicine by Micah) arrived on September 23, 2000, weighing in at 9 pounds, and 13 ounces, and was 21.5 inches long.

Madison's older sister, Courtney, has a good story to tell her baby sister when they get older about baby Madison's arrival.

Courtney came down with a case of the chicken pox shortly before Madison's arrival.

Well, with a brand new baby in the house, you don't want someone with chicken pox around.  So, Courtney came and stayed for a while with us, as she recovered from the chicken pox.  Luckily for everyone, it was a mild case (Especially when compared to  the Samantha's case of the chicken pox last year).

Courtney really, really wanted to be with her new baby sister, but she fully understood that being around her was not a good thing.  She was a real trooper, and we tried as hard as we could to make things fun for her.  I sure hope we succeeded.

Welcome to the world baby Madison.

  • Auto Snapshot improved

I told you I would work on getting a larger, clearer picture for the auto snapshot feature.  For example, what you see below is a nice, large (640 x 480) snap shot taken from our web cam.  Strange thing, my camera is ABLE to take these size shots, but the software that came with the Intel PC Pro Camera Pack won't take a 640 x 480 image and upload it to your website.  It only takes 320 x 240 size pictures, and uploads them.  So, I had to purchase another piece of software, called WebCam32, which is a GREAT piece of software.  I hope you enjoy the larger pictures.

Coming soon, streaming, live video (Kind of live, like updated ever second or so).  What's that, you ask?  Yep, I've tested it, and it DOES work, but I've got some more testing, configuring, etc. to do before I'm completely comfortable with it.  So, stay tuned, as I work with my new software, and try to bring you more and more coverage of The Hughes Family Online!
