Cabbage Beef Soup
1 head cabbage (shredded)
1 large onion (diced)
1 bell pepper (diced)
1/2 cup celery (diced)
1 tsp. red pepper flakes
1/4 cup chili powder
1 tsp. garlic powder
2 cans Hunt's diced Tomatoes
1 can tomato puree
1 lb. VERY lean ground beef
3 cans kidney beans
Brown ground beef with onions, peppers and celery. Drain grease off well and rinse with very hot water. In a 5 quart Dutch oven, pour all ingredients. Add water if desired for a thinner soup. Simmer 1 1/2 hours or until cabbage is tender. Can be served with rice or without.
