Granny's Pecan Tassies


1 stick butter
3 oz. cream cheese
1 cup sifted flour


Cream butter and cream cheese together. Work flour in. Chill several hours.


Filling:

1 egg (beaten)
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 Tbsp. softened butter
1 tsp. vanilla
dash of salt
2 Tbsp. dark Karo syrup
1 cup chopped pecans


Mix all these ingredients together. Roll pastry dough into small balls. Press pastry dough into tart pans. Fill about 2/3 full with pecan mixture. Bake 15-17 minutes in a preheated 375° oven.
