Smoky Mountain Chicken



Boneless skinless chicken breasts
garlic powder to taste
black pepper to taste
Italian seasoning to taste
BBQ Sauce
Honey-baked ham slices
Monterey Jack cheese


Lay chicken in a single layer on a baking sheet. Sprinkle liberally with spices. Bake at 350° until chicken is done (around 45 minutes.) Remove from oven and spread BBQ over each chicken breast. Layer several pieces of ham on each and top with a slice of Monterey Jack cheese. Return to oven until cheese is bubbly and melted.

Note: This is a recipe I originally got from my friend Lisa W. in Maine. I've tweaked it a lot and it has become a "signature" dish when I cater. THANKS LISA!!!!!
