Missionary challenge: 2nd year is harder than the 1st
around Apr, 98
~ Entering into our second year here ~
Last year, fortunately we didn't feel too bad of a culture shock. After
returning from Hong Kong, we heard of many stories. For example, one missionary
after returning home, he excitedly told of his "brothers and sisters" at
home that he would serve even more fervently at the mission field upon
his first reentry. Surprisingly, upon return to the missionary field, due
to several reasons, he fell into a deep depression and couldn't pull himself
out of it.
Simply from this story, the second year's adjustment is not necessarily
easier than the first year's for missionary workers. In some aspects, it
might be even harder. Brother and sisters, would you be willing to support
us in prayers?
~ Our financial condition ~
According to our plan last year, our support was as follow: 1/3 by the
church, 1/3 by our savings and 1/3 by the free offering of brothers and
sisters. Up till November of 1997, thanks the Lord, we're off from our
plan by about HK $70 (~ CDN $12.5). All in all, we are doing great! We
would like to thank our mother churches and brothers and sisters.
Please continue to remember us in your prayers
