Sometimes, being a missionary is not simply going there, shouting out loud and letting all your Christ-like action be known to the local people. At times, missionaries have to be mindful of many factors such as political restriction, local religious sensitivity or fanaticism, cultural lifestyle and even racial tension. Some Christian Missionary Organization aim to train their missionaries to be tactful in dealing through proper cultural protocol. Sometimes, they may never be fully trained. Thank God that our Lord is their ultimate Counselor.
Filbert and Iris (not their real names) is a very good example. They've
embarked on a missionary journey for a couple years. Due to some sensitivities
in the country they now serve in, we've changed not only their names, but
also the countries' names they visited in their missionary diary. By keeping
this anonymous will hopefully not affect the local missionary work, the
long term work in that country as well as their personal safety. We had
not changed or added to what God had done in their lives here. We hope
that through Filbert and Iris' testimony, you'll get to know the Lord we
believe in - Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince
of Peace (Isaiah 9:12)
