The Oregon Trail is not only a significant part of American History but is also a significant part of the history of thousands of families across the United States.  Just like the first settlers of this country, numerous families risked their lives in search of a better life in an unknown land with unknown obstacles but this search was not for a new land, this was a search for what our newfound land had to offer its inhabitants.
     Many history buffs will tell you that it is difficult to determine the reliability of historical web sites on the Internet but in this project I will attempt to give insight on a few sites that I uncovered in my search for information about one of the most amazing journeys that Americans have ever endured.
