of Elizabeth and William W. Clift's children were
learned from the will of William Clift's father,
Henry Clift. Henry Clift specifically excludes from
inheritance the children of his deceased son,
William, namely: Henry , Charles and Sarah. Since
Elizabeth had married again, family speculation
is that Henry did not wish "the Gibson man" to
benefit from any portion of his estate

LA; was Mayor of Stamps, AR; tax assessor and state senator; was a Democrat,
Methodist Episcopal, Odd Fellow, Stamps AR No. 147. Enlisted in Co
F Lafayette Guards, Lewisville, Lafayette Co AR, 15 May 1861, 6 Jun 1861,
Little Rock Inf under Gov Henry M. Rector, served 4 yrs, 2 mos; was in
the Battle of Shiloh, Hover Gap, Murfreesboro, Chicamauga, Missionary Ridge,
fought from Dalton to Atlanta, GA.
