WILLIAM NORWOOD - "died in Giles County, Tenn., October 18, 1891.
Brother Norwood was born July 1, 1804, in Union District, S. C., and migrated
to Lincoln County, Tenn., with his parents when he was quite small, and
could justly be called a pioneer of Tennessee. He was the father
of nine children, the grandfather of seventy-one, the great-grandfather
of twenty-nine. He has been a faithful member of the Methodist Church
for sixty years. His connection was temporarily broken through our
war. Brother Norwood outlived his wife just two years. Just
before he left us he resigned his jewel to the Master in a beautiful prayer,
stepped aboard the old ship of Zion and left us."
