Easter Vacation
We had a wonderful trip to the Northwest this spring break!
Of course, on our way up we stopped in Corning at one of our favorite rest areas
for a break and photos with some beautiful old olive trees...
We had a wonderful Easter with Jim, Stefani, and their family.
It was great to see all my family up in the "not so frozen" north!
Alex was especially happy to visit cousin, JJ.
It's such an elegant town, filled with some of the most polite and friendly people I've encountered! While there, we visited, and enjoyed high tea at beautiful Butchart Gardens.
Our last stop on the way home was at Wildlife Safari in Winston Oregon.
Such a wonderful place! The animals really put on a show for us. The ones below posed particularly well.
We made the mistake of stopping in the bears' area.
Shortly after taking this picture of him, this grizzly decided that our spare tire cover looked (or smelled) like lunch!
Even tho I immediately (tho lightly) stepped on the gas, this was the result to our wheel cover.
Oh, and I mustn't forget the ostrich that kept pounding with his beak on our car windows. He didn't damage anything, but I wish I knew why he did that! I'll admit to being made nervous enough about it that I didn't get a clear picture of him. This is the best I could do...
By the way, despite how it may sound, I'd advise a trip to Wildlife Safari to anyone -especially in the spring!
