Meat and drinks, paper plates, plastic ware and plastic cups will be provided.
You will need to bring:
Two covered dishes.
Table and chairs will be provided but IF you have room to stick a lawn chair or two in, bring a couple. We think there will be enough chairs in the hall but just in case.....
Bring your cameras!
Bring a few old pictures and Eric Adcock will scan them to put them on the internet for all to have a chance to see.
Craft Auction
If you can donate a craft item for the auction, it would be appreciated. We will use the monies from the auction to defray the $300 rental cost of the hall and the $75 cleanup fee. We could clean up the hall ourselves but to keep the "last two people" at the reunion from having to clean it up by themselves, we think it better to cover the cleanup fee.
No alcohol will be allowed at/in St Patrick's Hall.
Dram Shop Insurance is required for alcohol usage at/in St Patrick's Hall. We are not buying Dram Shop Insurance.

Memorial Service to Commemorate the New Gravestone
Being Erected for William Irvin
Memorial Scheduled for 2 P.M.
A Memorial Service will be held on October 2, 1999 commemorate the new stone for William Irvin in Bethel Cemetery, Sharpsburg, IL, time to be announced as soon as all those involved, have agreed on a time. Anyone interested may attend. Henry Hays married Elzirah Irvin, the daughter of William and Sarah (Rader) Irvin. Henry Hays was the son of Andrew Hays. William Irvin served in the Mexican War with Captain Edgar Bogard's 4th
Illinois Volunteers and also served in the Civil War with Company E, 6th Illinois Cavalry. Thanks to the pension
records Tim Hays and I found, it stated place of death as Sharpsburg, Illinois. I made a trip a few weeks ago to their
oldest cemetery there and found grandfather's old military stone, damaged, but intact enough to barely read. Have
made contact with VA in D.C. and in Taylorville, Il and a new stone will be up in less than 2 months. The Daughters
and Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War will be present from Springfield, Il, of which my entire family are members. Also Descendants of Mexican War Veterans will be represented by me, as I am a member now! Also the 114th Reinacters will be there and Taylorville VFW and the Womens Relief Corp have been invited and hope to attend. The grave is in Bethel Cemetery in Sharpsburg, Il and there is a nice church right next to it, so if weather is inclement, service will be held indoors and the minister has yet to get back to me, but thinks his congregation would like to provide a meal for those present. This date was chosen, as the newly found Irvin cousins from San Antonio,
Texas will also be attending the Hays reunion and want to be present for the commemoration as well. All that would like to dress in Civil War fashion may do so, as I will be, along with our tent members. The Irvins from Texas have provided us with William and Sarah (Rader) Irvin's wedding photo and William's Civil War photo, of him in uniform as well. This will be an exciting couple of days. Pass this on to anyone interested. Andrew Hays by the way, also served in the Mexican War and we have copies of his military records.

A “First Family” of Macoupin County IL.
WILLIAM HAYS , SR was born Abt 1780 in NC 1, and died June 26, 1853 in Macoupin Co IL 2. He married (1) ELIZABETH Abt 1798. He married (2) SARAH PROCTOR 1846, daughter of Simon PROCTOR and Jane SCIFERS.
Notes
William lived in NC, SC, and Martin Co IN before coming to IL about 1830. William and Elizabeth are buried in Union Chapel Cem, N Otter Twp, Macoupin Co IL. There are two more sons on the 1820 Martin Co IN census. Daughter Betcy's age at death was 16yr/11m/15da. She is buried in Union Chapel Cem.
Stone reads that she is the daughter of William HAYS. Betcy's burial was the first burial in Union Chapel Cemetery. Evelyn FREY, in her research, questioned if Betcy's death year
might not have been 1836 "because the family did not come to IL until 1830 and it was common to use the earlier year for awhile after a new year," she wrote. If the age of 16 yrs is
on the stone then might the birth year be 1819? William's stone reads that he was 73 years old at death.
Marriage Notes
Marriage date is about 1798.
Elizabeth's stone reads that she was 64 years old at death.
