This EQ4 rendition of my newest quilt was inspired by Carol Doak's new book Easy Stash Quilts which includes a CD. On the CD Carol explains to Nancy J. Martin her technique for using her stash fabrics in both paper pieced and traditionally pieced quilts. I highly recommend this book.
Here are two quilts I designed using instructions from Barb Vlack's new book EQ4 Magic . It is a very helpful book and I am starting to feel like someday I just might be able to master something beyond basic. Now all I need is a portion of the imagination of Barb and a few others on the Info-eq list.
This quilt was designed using Barb Vlack's instruction in EQ4 Magic for a quilt layout template. I have really taken to this fabric group and found it worked well in this design giving the feeling of all those iridescent blues and greens in mallard ducks.
Patti Anderson offered very fascinating instructions on how to skew a block into diamonds, making a perfect 45 degree block and putting it all together to make an intriguing quilt. The above EQ4 quilt sample is my version of this project. Thanks Patti. Now if I can only figure out how to piece this quilt together.
This is a quilt designed in a 24 Hour Round Robin originating from the EQ-info list. The center and last border(solid green) are my designs. I hope to make this quilt someday. I have only done applique twice and they were very small projects done long ago. Not my favorite needlework but I do love the look.I am sorry I can't credit the other participants in the RR. I would love to put names to borders but I no longer have a record. If you recognize your work just e-mail me and I'll add your name to this page.
This is the quilt I designed for Pat Tribby's basket challenge. I designed a block in EQ3 for the original basket challenge then responded to the request for a quilt made with all the baskets. Below is a picture of my block. It is a basket of fat quarters.
Here is the baby quilt I just finished piecing together. It is a gift for a friend who is expecting her baby Oct. 29th. Which just happens to be my birthday. I used leftover blocks from a Flying Geese quilt I made about 6 years ago. This EQ representation is a little more colorful than the actual quilt. I just used the color/fabrics palette that was presently in EQ. I plan to hand quilt this with a double heart motif in the plain triangles and outline in the pinwheel blocks. In the green border I will have repeating small hearts, reversing the orientation. Do you think I can deliver before the mother does?
