My family and I live in Mexico. We plan to be here for three years. We arrived in June of 1998. It is a wonderful country. Warm, friendly people. Although poverty is widespread the people live happy, productive lives. Much of the labor is done without the help of the kinds of machines we take for granted in the U.S.We have traveled only in our immediate area and to the south of us about 6 hours. What we have seen is beautiful. We hope over the course of the three years to get to see all regions of Mexico. Not only are the terrains different but there is much to learn about the culture in each area. This first offering of pictures is small but it does give you a taste of what Mexico looks like. In the months to come we hope to share more pictures with you so please check back now and then.
An ever present sight in Mexico. Bougainvillea blooms year round, although not as profusely in the winter months. It is a cheery sight to see. This picture was taken in Guanajuato.
An old church now turned restaurant in Guanajuato.
This picture shows the Guanajuato area from high in the Sierra Madre mountains. It takes your breath away.
This isn't a great picture but it is a picture of a great spot along the mountain road between Saltillo, Coahulia and Monterrey, NL. We have taken this trip through the mountains four times already.
At the Monterrey end of the mountain road trip one comes to a park called Cola de Cabello (Horsetail Falls). We have stopped to have a picnic lunch and to enjoy the cooling spray off this lovely waterfalls.
There is a little taste of Mexico.
