Slippery
Rock Cemetery - This is the sign that is
near the main road. It sits up on a hillside. I believe the name of
the road is Old Pittsburgh Road, I am not sure.
-
Slippery Rock Church - This
is the front of the church.
-
Slippery Rock Church - This
is a close up of a sign that was up when I was there, June 6th, 1999.
It states that they are celebrating 200 years. I didn't quite
understand it because the front of the building showed 1863.
-
This is the tombstone of Campbell
Brown and Amanda (Shoemaker) Brown. As you come up the drive,
turn in to the right and park to the side of the church. If you look
at the tree in the far left of the picture, that is where you will be parked.

Close up shot of Campbell Brown
and Amanda (Shoemaker) Brown's tombstone. Note that there are two
other's included on this stone. Borough Twp, Beaver County, PA 1850
Census records show a Sarah Brown living with him. I have assumed
that she is his mother. I wonder if this Sarah is a sister. Who is
Mary E.? Note that I have various sources that have Campbell's birth
year as 1821. Campbell 1819-1897, Amanda 1828-1874 / Sarah A.
1912-1904, Mary E. 1865-1904
-
Marker for Brown and tombstones of James
Brown and Mary (Latimer) Brown. If I recall correctly, this plot
sits off the left side of a road which is to the right of the church
(standing at the church, facing the cemetery). James 1857-1928, Mary
E. 1859-1955
-
Close up of James Brown's
tombstone, It is on the left side of the potted plant in the previous picture.
-
Close up of Mary (Latimer) Brown's
tombstone.
-
Tombstone of Chauncey L. Brown
and Ethel (Harper) Brown. Chauncey 1882-1939, Ethel 1886-1965. I
don't rember where this stone sites. I will find out and update this later.
