Friends
There was a time in days gone by
I stood alone and wondered why
I spoke to folk, I called their name
They turned aside, and no help came
Was this the 'net, the friendly web
The hopes of laughter seemed to ebb
I called out 'Hi' I said 'Hello'
It seemed they hoped that I'd just go
Then I found Alice, from the 'glade
Would my luck change and darkness fade?
It seemed at last someone did care
Someone with lots of love to share
We talked, we joked, we laughed and teased
We hit it off, we both seemed pleased
Our friendship grew and to this day
I bless the day she came my way
And Alice had so many pals
A lot of guys, a lot of gals
I first met Hez and later Som
Then Magnus, Jack, Ric and Tom
Kooter, Sukey, Juliette
And still the list's not finished yet
Mums and Tommy, Whisper Two
Lacey, Em and Scooby-Doo
It goes to show that in the end
You only need to make one friend
Then if you show that you are true
More friends will soon be known to you
And now at last I know the score
Friendship lies behind the door
In ICQ and Sneaker too
To all my friends I do Love you
