Trainee Aircraft Technicians

I wonder how many people looking at this page will recognise friends, family or even themselves in these photographs. Boy, what a rough looking bunch we all were.
The top picture was taken outside a classroom during part of our trade training although I cannot for the life of me remember what we were being taught that day. Probably something to do with drinking beer I seem to recall.
Some of these guys had transferred to this branch of the army from other units. We have a tank driver, a transport driver, a Royal Hussar and a sailor here. But where are they all now I wonder? And others from those days.
Most of us lived in the block nearest the camp cinema. We completed training in December 1967. Does this ring any bells?
I would love to hear from you guys and from the ones that were not in the picture. Ian from Selkirk, Doug from Southampton and also Doug Hunter and Phil Tompsett from Detmold in 1968. The other group picture was sent to me recently by a friend.
Update 2nd June 2008. I found this great contact website. Check it out: http://bfg-locations.editboard.com/index.htm
