Salvation

What is "Salvation"? or being "Born Again"?

If you are asking these questions, please take time to prayerfully read the following document.

There are four spiritual Laws or Principles
that effect us all.

Law One

God loves you, and offers a wonderful plan for your life

God’s love - For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

God’s plan - I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly

(John 10:10)

Law Two

Man is sinful and is separated from God. Therefore, we cannot know and experience God’s love and plan for are lives.

The Bible teaches that God is holy and man is sinful and that a great gulf separates the two.
Man has continually tried to reach God and abundant life through his own efforts, such as a good life, philosophy or religion. As much as we have tried, however, because of our sinful nature we have continually failed to meet God’s standard.
Man is sinful - for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Rom 3:23)

Man is separated - For the wages of sin is death. (Rom 6:23)

This is a spiritual death that separates us from God.

Law Three

Jesus Christ is God’s only provision for man’s sin. Through Him you can know and experience God’s love and plan for your life.

God has bridged the gulf which separates us from him by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross in our place to pay the penalty for our sins.
He died in our place - But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Rom 5:8)

He rose from the dead - For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve, and after that He was seen by over five hundred brethren. (1 Cor 15:3-6)

He is the only way - Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. (John 14:6)

Law Four

You must personally receive Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord;
then you can know and experience God’s love and plan for your life.

Receiving Jesus Christ involves turning to God from sin (repentance), and trusting Him to come into your life, to forgive your sins and to make you the kind of person He wants you to be. Just to agree intellectually that Jesus Christ is the Son Of God and that He died on the cross for your sins is not enough. Nor is it enough to have an emotional experience. You must receive Him by faith, as an act of your will.
You must receive Jesus Christ - But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.(John 1:12)

You receive Jesus through faith - For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. (Eph 2:8-9)

You receive Jesus Christ by personal invitation - Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. (Rev 3:20)

THE NEXT STEP

"You Can Receive Christ Right Now Through Prayer"

God knows your heart and is not as concerned with your words
as He is with the attitude of your heart.

The following is a suggested prayer:

Lord Jesus, I need You. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. I admit that I am a sinner, forgive me for all my sins, I now open the door of my life and receive You as my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving me and giving me eternal life. Take control of my life from this time on. Make me the kind of person You want me to be.

If you prayed this prayer or similar; God has forgiven your sins, Jesus has come into your heart making you a new person and your eternal destiny is to be spent in heaven.

You are forgiven of your sins - If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)

Jesus Christ is in your heart - Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? (1 Cor 3:16)

You have eternal life - And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.(1 John 5:11-13)
