      The above photo is the oldest photo that I have of a Bacon Family member. This photo was taken in New Hope, Pennsylvania.
      Family members names shown in Marroon are the direct ancestors of my children Chris, Ryan, Kayla & Kara. Anyone that has information or questions on this family line please email me. Thanks, and I hope you enjoy this short history of the Bacon Family.

Samuel Bacon, (1)

      Samuel, (1) was born in July, 1823 in Wilshire, England. The name of his parents is unknown. He married Harriet ( ) in 1850 in Wilshire, England prior to coming to this country. They are believed to have landed in Philadelphia in ca. 1888.
      They resided in Mahoney City, Schuylkill Cty, PA. They are both believed to have died there sometime between 1900 and 1910 since they don’t either showup in the 1910 census. Together they had twelve children. Only six lived, however only the names of four are known.

Samuel Bacon, Jr., (2)

      Samuel, (2) was born the 1st child & 1st son of Samuel (1) & Harriet (_____) Bacon in 1861 in Wilshire, England. He apparently came from England in 1887 prior to his parents as a young man with his wife. He married Annie ( ) in Wilshire England in 1875. She was born in August, 1852 also in Wilshire, England. Her parents names are currently unknown. After moving to the US they resided in Mahoney City, Schuylkill Cty, PA. The date of both of their deaths is currently unknown. They had 13 children together however only 5 lived.   6.   Edward Bacon, b. Apr, 1882

      Family Notes: Edward (6), Daniel (7) and Harriet (8) were all born in Wilshire, England. Esther (9) and Samuel (10) were born in Tamaqua, Schuylkill Cty, PA.

Harriet Bacon, (3)

      Harriet, (3) was born the 2nd child & only known dau of Samuel (1) & Harriet (_____) Bacon in 1862 in Wilshire, England. She came over from England in 1884 prior to her parents as a young woman with her husband. She married Moses Dericott in England in 1878. He was born in 1857 in Wilshire, England. His parents names are currently unknown. After moving to the US they resided in Mahoney City, Schuylkill Cty, PA. The date of both of their deaths is currently unknown. They had 6 known children together.

      Family Notes: It is unsure at this time whether Moses (11) was born in England or the US. All the other children were born in Mahoney City, Schuylkill Cty, PA.

Daniel Bacon, (4)

      Daniel, (4) was born the 3rd child & 2nd son of Samuel (1) & Harriet (_____) Bacon in 1864 in Wilshire, England. He came over from England with his parents 1888. He was married twice, however only the name of his second wife is known. She was Elizabeth Jones and they were married in PA. She was born in Pa. in 1863. Her parents names are unknown. She had three children from a previous marriage, George, John & Alice Jones. Daniel (4) had one child from his first marriage. The date of his and both his wives death is currently unknown. 17. David Bacon, b. 1893       Family Notes: David (17) was born in Pa.

William Bacon, (5)

      William, (5) (see photo above) was born the 4th child & 3rd son of Samuel (1) & Harriet (_____) Bacon in January 29, 1872 in Wilshire, England. He came with his family from England as a young boy. He married Anna Catherine Whittich who was the dau of Valentine & Anna Savina (Gerhart) Whittich on December 13, 1894 in Mahoney City, Schuylkill Cty, Pa. She was born on December 29, 1876 in Tamaqua. During their marriage they resided in New Hope.
      His wife Anna died in 1905 at the age of 29 during childbirth. Were she was interred is unknown. William (5) then married Gerturude (Didyoung) McBreen in 1907. Gerturde was born in August 1878 the dau of Adam & Elizabeth ( ) Didyoung. Gertrude had been previously married to a McBreen with whom she had one child, Veronica McBreen. Gertrude died on April 20, 1923 in Camden, NJ and was also interred there. William (5) died on October 8, 1946 at the age of 73 of a cerebral hemorrhage in New Hope. He was interred in the Riverview Cem., Lambertville, NJ behind his dau Winnie's (20) grave stone. Together they had 6 children. 18.   Martha Magdeline Bacon, b. Jun 29, 1895

      Family Notes: Martha (18) was born in Mahanoy City & married James Paulley on May 15, 1920. William (21) was born on Buck Mountain, Schylhill and married Eletta Parker. Anna (22) was born in Mahanoy City & married Edward Haas.

Moses Dericott, Jr., (11)

      Moses, (11) was born the 1st child & 1st son of Moses, Sr., & Harriet Bacon (3) in 1884 in Wilshire, England. He came over from England with his parents 1884. He married Helen ( ) who was born in 1889 in Mahoney City, Schuylkill Cty, Pa. Her parents names are unknown. The date of Moses’ (11) and Helen’s death are currently unknown.       Family Notes: Moses (24) and Jural (25) were both born in Mahoney City, Schuylkill Cty, Pa. The other three were born in Marea Village, Schuylkill Cty, Pa.

William Dericott, (12)

      William, (12) was born the 2nd child & 2nd son of Moses, Sr., & Harriet Bacon (3) in 1889 in Mahoney City, Schuylkill Cty, Pa. He married Clara A. Swank who was born the dau of Washington & Eva ( ) Swank in 1898 also in Mahoney City. The death dates of neither is known 29.   Eva P. Dericott, b. 1919

Harriet Dericott, (13)

      Harriet, (13) was born the 3rd child & 1st dau of Moses, Sr., & Harriet Bacon (3) in 1895 in Mahoney City, Schuylkill Cty, Pa. She married Edward Burton in 1915 in Mahoney City. Edward was born in 1884. His parents names are unknown. The death dates of neither is known and they had one known child. 30.   Savilla Burton, b. 1916

Margaret Dericott, (14)

      Margaret, (14) was born the 4th child & 2nd dau of Moses, Sr., & Harriet Bacon (3) in 1896 in Mahoney City, Schuylkill Cty, Pa. She married (_____) Ward whose first name and parent’s names are unknown at this time. The death dates of neither is known and they had one known child. 31.   Mary Ward, b. 1916

Winnie Ann Bacon, (20)

      Winnie, (20) was born the 3rd child & 3rd dau of William (5) & Anna Savina (Whittich) Bacon on May 27, 1898 on Buck Mountain, Luzerne Cty, Pa. She married John Ernest Pickett (See the Pickett Family) on June 24, 1920 in New Hope. He was the son of Jacob Dunlap & Eleanor Minerva (Smith) Pickett & was born on December 3, 1897 in New Hope.
      After their marriage they resided in a stone home on Mechanic Street, across from the old Town Hall & Jail. That house is still standing. Her husband John, an unskilled laborer, had multiple jobs during his lifetime, the last being a guard at the bridge that ran over the Delaware River between New Hope & Lambertville, NJ. John also served in World War I as a Private in the U.S. Army. Winnie (20) worked cleaning people's homes & washing clothes to help make ends meet during their marriage.
      Winnie (20) & her husband John moved from the above mentioned residence to a house next door, on the corner of Mechanic & Main Street ca. 1926. The house that they moved to has since been torn down for the widening of Main Street. They moved from there to a house directly across the street that was next to the Old Town Hall (on the Main Street Side) that has also since been torn down. This home was the last home that John lived in.
      John died on September 18, 1944 at the age of 46 on the corner of Main & Bridge Streets in New Hope, of a Heart Attack. He was interred in the Riverview Cem., Lambertville, NJ.
      Winnie (20) moved to Lambertville, NJ ca. October 1944, in a home across from her son Richard (34). She then moved to an apartment built for her over the garage of her daughter Margaret's (32) home in New Hope where she lived until moving with Margaret (32) to Punta Gorda, FL ca. 1974.
      Winnie (20) died on October 18, 1983 at the age of 87 in Punta Gorda, FL. She was interred in the Charlotte Memorial Gardens in Punta Gorda, however, she has a headstone in Riverview Cem., Lambertville, NJ which shows her correct birth & death year. This stone is along side of her husband John's. Together they had 3 Children. 32.* Margaret Eunice Pickett, b. Nov 27, 1921

William Bacon, Jr., (21)

      William, (21) was born the 4th child & 1st son of William, Sr. (5) & Anna Savina (Whittich) Bacon on January 16, 1900 on Buck Mountain, Luzerne Cty, Pa. He married Eletta Parker in 1920. She was born in Michigan in 1902. The names of her parents are currently unknown.
      After their marriage it is believed that they resided in Camden, NJ. The dates of both their deaths and where they are interred is currently unknown. Together they had one known child.

35.   James Bacon, b. Feb 19, 1921, d. May, 1990
