The following family tree information on the descendants of the Howell Family is compiled from many sources: Census forms, books published on local history of Trenton, NJ, family interviews, family legends, marriage, birth and death certificates and personal knowledge. Two major contributors include Edith Elizabeth (Shepherd) Stout, my grandmother, and Rachel Carver, my 3rd cousin. At this time my reasearch has not uncovered whether our oldest ancestor's name was "George Edward" or "Edward George" Howell, both Edith and Rachel disagree on his actual name. However I'm positive that in the near future I will be able to establish this without any doubt.
This Family Tree is updated regularly when new sources are found and new sources are being looked for constantly. Anyone knowing of any additions to this information, or any decendant line, are requested to email me.

George Edward Howell, (1)

      George, (1) is the senior member known of this family. His parents names, siblings, birth & death dates are unknown. He married Rachel Carver whose parents names & dates are also unknown. They resided in Trenton. They both are believed to be interred in the Riverview Cem., on Lalor Street in Trenton & they had 5 children. 2.* Amanda Carver Howell, b. Oct 3, 1883, d. Jul 14, 1969

6.* Mary Howell       Family Notes:All the Children are believed to have been born in Trenton. The birth date of Amanda has been verified by a Birth Certificate. The birth date of Edith (3) seems wrong since it is only 8 months after Amanda's (2). Charles (4) died as an infant. The birth order of the children has not been verified.

Amanda Carver Howell, (2)

      Amanda (2) was born the 1^st child & 1^st dau of George Edward (1) & Rachel (Carver) Howell on October 3, 1883 in Trenton, NJ. She married Harry Jacob Shepherd who was born the son of Peter Aller & Corinda (Runyan) Shepherd on July 17, 1877 in Stockton. (See the "Shepherd" and "Runyan" Family History) After their marriage they resided in Lambertville. Amanda (2) worked at home as a mother & homemaker raising their children. She & her husband were members of the Methodist Church in Lambertville.
      Amanda's (2) husband Harry worked in the Pottery Factory that use to be on North Union Street in Lambertville. He served in the United States Army during World War I in the infantry.
      Harry Shepherd died on May 22, 1951 at this home on Elm Street in Lambertville, NJ at the age of 73. He was interred in the Riverview Cemetery in Lambertville. Amanda (2) died on July 14, 1969 at home in Lambertville at the age of 85. They had 8 children together.   7.* Peter Aller Shepherd, b. May 27, 1903, d. Aug 30, 1978

14.* Gladys Virginia Shepherd, b. Dec 14, 1927       Family Notes: Detailed information and the descendants of Peter (7), Ida (8), Edith (9), Harry (12), Richard (13) and Gladys (14) can be found in the "Shepherd" Family History. All the children were born in Lambertville, NJ. Norman (11) died on Aug 21, 1911 at the age of 10 months & is interred in RVC. Emma (10) married Harry Runyon & had no children & she resides in Hopewell.

Edith May Howell, (3)

Edith (3) was born the 2^nd child & 2^nd dau of George Edward (1) & Rachel (Carver) Howell on June 10, 1884 in Trenton, NJ. She married Frederick Milton Brown on September 28, 1907 in Trenton, NJ. He was born on January 3, 1882 the son of Benjamin S. & Harriet (DeLaRue) Brown in Pa. Edith (6) died on June 6, 1961 in Trenton at the age of 77. Her husband Frederick preceded her in death on March 10, 1933 also in Trenton at the age of 51. They are interred in the Riverview Cem., in Trenton, NJ. Edward Howell, (5)

      Edward (5) was born the 4^th child & 2^nd son of George Edward (1) & Rachel (Carver) Howell in Trenton. His birth date is unknown. He married Lillian _____ whose birth date & parents are unknown. The death dates & interment location for Edward (5) & his wife are unknown. Together they had 4 children. 17.   Maurice Howell

Mary Howell, (6)

Mary (6) was born the 5^th & last child & 3^rd and last dau of George Edward (1) & Rachel (Carver) Howell, however her birth date is unknown. She married Charles Vandeveer whose parent's and birth date are also unknown. After their marriage it is believed that they resided in Trenton. Their place of interrment is also unknown. Together they had 2 children. 21. Charles Vandeveer, Jr.

Rachel Hannah Brown, (15)

Rachel, (15) was born the 1^st child & 1^st dau of Frederick Milton & Edith May (Howell) (6) Brown on June 16, 1908 in Trenton. She married Jesse Poin ton, Jr. on May 13, 1930 in Doylestown, Pa. He was born on June 13, 1910 the son of Jesse, Sr. & Adeline (Bray) Brown. Jesse died on March 6, 1988 in St. Petersburg, Florida & was interred in Greenwood Cem., in Trenton. Robert Allen Pointon, (23)

      Robert, (23) was born the 1^st child & 1^st son of Jesse, Jr. & Rachel Hannah (Brown) (15) Pointon on November 12, 1931 in Trenton. He has been married twice. First he married Rita Erriksen on November 12, 1955 in Hamilton Township. Her birth date is unknown. They were divorced & together they had 3 children. She died on December 25, 1989.
      Robert (23) was married second to Mildred Kupp on July 12, 1975 in Windsor. He & Mildred have no children together. 26.* Scott Robert Pointon, Nov 16, 1958

Barbara Joan Pointon, (24)

Barbara, (24) was born the 2^nd child & 1^st dau of Jesse, Jr. & Rachel Hannah (Brown) (15) Pointon on October 11, 1934 in Trenton, NJ. She married Joseph James Collis, Jr. on August 17, 1957 in Trenton. His birth date is unknown & he is the son of Joseph James Collis, Sr. Together they have 3 children. 29.* Susan Barbara Collis, b. Ruth Elaine Pointon, (25)

      Ruth, (25) was born the 3rd child & 2nd dau of Jesse, Jr. & Rachel Hannah (Brown) (15) Pointon on August 26, 1942 in Trenton. She has been married twice. She first married Joseph Galayda in February 1962. They were divorced on December 13, 1976 & they had 2 children together.
      She married second to William Cumberland Reynolds, Jr. on January 9, 1988 in Basking Ridge. His birth date is unknown. He is the son of William Cumberland Reynolds, Sr. Ruth (38) & William have no children together. 32.   Joseph Galayda, b. Sep 15, 1964

Scott Robert Pointon, (26)

Scott, (26) was born the 1^st child & 1st son of Robert Allen (23) & Rita (Erriksen) Pointon on November 16, 1958 in Trenton. He married Cheryl Elaine Pitsley on August 1, 1988. She was born the dau of Leo Kenneth & Theresa Elaine (Lockwood) Pitsley on November 27, 1957 in Oswego, NY. Cheryl's father, Leo Kenneth Pitsley, was adopted & his birth surname was Kilenbec. David Allen Pointon, (27)

David, (27) was born the 2nd child & 2nd son of Robert Allen (23) & Rita (Erriksen) Pointon on January 2, 1960 in Trenton. He married Mary Lou Dougherty on February 18, 1989. She was born the dau of Louis Hugh & Mary Christine (Horgan) Dougherty on September 2, 1959 in Wilmington, De. Together they have 1 child. 35. Kelly Rita Pointon, b. Aug 12, 1990, Philadelphia, Pa

Susan Barbara Collis, (29)

      Susan, (29) was born the 1st child & 1st dau of Joseph James & Barbara Joan (Pointon) (24) Collis on April 29, 1960 in Trenton. She married Lynn Shelley in August 1980. He is the son of Gary & Ann (_____) Shelley. His birth date is unknown. On December 30, 1986 Susan (48) died of cancer in New York City, NY. Together they had 3 children. 36.   Landry Shelley, b. Joseph James Collis, III, (30)

Joseph, (30) was born the 2nd child & 1st son of Joseph James, Jr. & Barbara Joan (Pointon) (24) Collis on November 20, 1963 in Trenton. He married Geri Crawford on October 14, 1987. She is the dau of Robert & Doris (_____) Crawford & was born on October 14, 1965. They currently have no children.

Patricia Lynn Collis, (31)

Patricia, (31) was born the 3rd child & 2nd dau of Joseph James, Jr. & Barbara Joan (Pointon) (24) Collis on July 28, 1965 in Trenton. She is not married. She has one child with Matthew McMahon that was born in Trenton. 39. Christopher Joseph Collis, b. Jan 7, 1989
