Family History

The earliest known member of my Pickett family is my G-G-G Grandfather Edward D. Pickett who was born in 1807 somewhere in New Jersey. Efforts to establish who his parents were have been futile up to this point.
Either after his marriage to Catherine Conover or at an earlier age with his parents, they settled in the New Hope, PA. area where Edward was noted as a Shipwright.
Since Edward's time some members of the family, such as my father, have moved to other places. However, until my father's move in 1948 to Odessa, Delaware, the family basically remained in the New Hope, PA area where many family members still reside.
For ease of identification each family member has a number that is referenced through this entire document. That is, Edward is number 1 and my number is 93. An " * " after the family member's number denotes that I have further information about them displayed later in this document. The family member's whose names are shown in Marroon letters are my direct ancestors.
The most celebrated member of my family is Joesph Pickett (8) whose painting are hanging in the New York City museum of Art and the Camden, New Jersey museum of Art. Hopefully I'll be able to display some of his painting here at a later date.
Anyone that has information or questions on this family line please email me. Thanks, and I hope you enjoy this short history of my Pickett Family.
