MY FATHER'S SIDE OF MY FAMILY

Clive Rawlings MCROBERTS
was born on July 16, 1910 in Fleming Co., Ky.,
He died on May 23, 1982 at his home , abt.
a mile from Grange City, Fleming Co., Ky. The
same home he was born in. He was born to
Lewis Elexander MCROBERTS, born April 13, 1875,
a twin, the other twin unamed, was dead at birth.
Lewis MCROBERTS died on Feb. 27, 1952,
in the same house he was born in, abt. a mile from Grange City,
Fleming Co., Ky. Lewis MCROBERTS married
on Sept. 08, 1908, in Colfax, Fleming Co., Ky.,
Martha Abigail [ABBY]] RAWLINGS,
born April 23, 1878, died Jan. 01, 1923
at her home near Grange City, Fleming Co., Ky.

Lewis MCROBERTS
was the son of John MCROBERTS, born Jan. 03, 1835
in Fleming Co., Ky. and died Dec. 05, 1892 at
his home near Grange City, Fleming Co., Ky.
He married Jan. 28, 1872 in Fleming Co., Ky.,
Nancy [Nannie] JOHNSON, born June 07, 1842
close to the Licking River in Fleming Co., Ky.,
she died June 21, 1908 in Fleming Co., Ky.

John MCROBERTS
was the son of Alexander MCROBERTS,
born Jan. 25, 1801 in Ky., was killed July 24, 1840.
He married June 20, 1830 Fleming Co., Ky.,
Sarah [Sally] RAWLINGS, born July 03, 1808,
Fleming Co., Ky., died Aug. 21, 1873, Fleming Co., Ky.

Nancy [Nannie] [JOHNSON] MCROBERTS,
wife of John MCROBERTS, was the daughter
of Lewis JOHNSON who was born June 07, 1842
in Penn., he died Jan. 14, 1864 at his home, along
the Licking River in Fleming Co., Ky., Lewis JOHNSON
married March 22, 1810 in Fleming Co., KY.,
Bondsman: James WRIGHT, Atheliah WRIGHT
born March 13, 1793 in Va., died May 13, 1873
in Fleming Co., KY. Athaleah [ WRIGHT] JOHNSON'S
parents were James and Mary [last name unk.] WRIGHT.
They came to Kentucky from Virginia, prior to 1800,
and bought land and setteled along
the Licking River in Fleming Co., Ky., across the River
from Bath Co., Ky. Several of their
children were born in Virginia.

Alexander MCROBERTS
was the son of John MCROBERTS and
Eunice CRAWFORD. John MCROBERTS born Va. died
Fleming Co., Ky., John MCROBERTS
married Eunice CRAWFORD on August 06, 1793
in Botetourt Co., Virginia. John and Eunice moved
from Botetourt Co., Va. to Fleming Co., Ky. in the
late 1790's.

John MROBERTS,
the son of Samuel MCROBERTS Jr.
of Botetourt Co., Virginia. Samuel MCROBERTS Jr.'s
father was Samuel MCROBERTS Sr. from
Botetourt Co., Virginia. Samuel MCROBERTS was
Scotch - Irish, and is one of the first, with the surname
MCROBERTS, to come to the colonies.
Samuel MCROBERTS can be found in
Virginia record's, as early as 1739. He
and Samuel Jr. are listed in several Botetourt Co.,
Virginia record's, and records prior to Botetourt
becoming a County of Virginia.

The parent's of Sarah [RAWLINGS] MCROBERTS,
wife of Alexander MCROBERTS, were: Thomas RAWLINGS
born 1767 in Va., died 1839 in Fleming Co., Ky. and
Mary Ann TRIBBY born [unk.], died March 29, 1814
Fleming Co., Ky.

Thomas RAWLINGS
father was William RAWLINGS Sr. born 1736
Richmond Co., Va. He died 1815 in Fleming Co., Ky.
Thomas RAWLINGS was the son of
William RAWLINGS Sr. and his first unk. wife.

William RAWLINGS Sr.
and his second wife Barbara A. [last name unk.]
and the Rawlings children left Loudoun Co., Va.
after the Rev. War and finally setteled in Fleming Co., Ky.
William Rawlings Sr., was the son of Thomas Rawlings,
Richmond Co., Va.

Martha Abigail [RAWLINGS] MCROBERTS,
wife of Lewis MCROBERTS, was the daughter
of William RAWLINGS born 1846 Fleming Co., Ky.,
died 1936, at his home in Colfax, Fleming Co., Ky.,
he married Mahala G. KEERANS born 1855 Fleming
Co., Ky., died 1925 Fleming Co., Ky.

William RAWLINGS,
was the son of Presley RAWLINGS born 1813
Fleming Co., Ky., died 1881 Fleming Co., Ky. and
Sarah VANLANDINGHAM born 1818
died 1899 Fleming Co., Ky.

Presley RAWLINGS
parents were William RAWLINGS Jr., born Oct. 1775
Virginia, died Dec.29, 1869 Fleming Co., Ky.,
married 1797, Margaret DAY, born March 13, 1781
Maryland, Prince George Co., died March 29, 1857
Fleming Co., Ky.-- Margaret [DAY] was the
daughter of William DAY.

William RAWLINGS Jr.
was the son of William RAWLINGS Sr.,
and a brother to Thomas RAWLINGS,
father of Sarah [RAWLINGS] MCROBERTS,
wife of Alexander MCROBERTS.

Confusing!!!! I wonder sometimes,
how i am related to me !!!!!!
It gets more confusing in my remainig ancestor's.

Since my gt.gt.gt. grandfather
Thomas RAWLINGS and my gt.gt.gt. grandfather
William RAWLINGS Jr. were bro's,
son's of William RAWLINGS Sr. and his first unk. wife,
that makes me a double RAWLINGS descendant.

Mahala G. KERRANS,
wife of William RAWLINGS and
the mother of my grandmother Martha Abigail
[RAWLINGS] MCROBERTS, was the
daughter of Thomas F. KEERANS born March 26, 1821
died Nov. 01, 1885 in Fleming Co., Ky.,
married April 20, 1843 Fleming Co., Ky.
Melvinia [Vianna] T. JOHNSON born April 20, 1818,
died Sept. 27, 1890 Fleming Co., Ky.

Thomas KEERANS
was the son of Joseph KEERANS
and Abigail CALLERMAN. Abigail [CALLERMAN]
born Feb. 11, 1793 in Fleming Co., Ky., died May 18,
1876, in Fleming Co., Ky. She was the daughter
of John CALLERMAN, born before 1765
and Susannah WILSON, born Jan. 15, 1772 in Loudoun
Co., Va., Susannah's father was James
WiILSON born unk., died abt. 1842 in Scioto,
Ohio. John Callerman was of German descent.
Abagail CALLERMAN married Joseph KEERANS
on May 1, 1811, in Fleming Co., Ky. Joseph KEERANS
and Abigail [CALLERMAN] KEERANS are buried
in the Fairview Cem. in Fleming Co., Ky.

Melvinia [Vianna] [JOHNSON] KEERANS,
wife of Thomas F. KEERANS, was the daughter
of Lewis JOHNSON and Athleah [WRIGHT] JOHNSON.

Melvinia [Vianna] [JOHNSON] KEERANS,
my gt.gt. grandmother was a sister to my gt. grandmother
Nancy [Nannie] [JOHNSON] MCROBERTS.
Thus making Lewis and Athleah [WRIGHT] JOHNSON
my gt.gt. grandparents and my gt.gt.gt. grandparents.

My grandparents Lewis
and Martha Abigail [RAWLINGS] MCROBERTS
were second and fourth cousins.

So, guess i am a double
Johnson and Wright descendant also.

Nothing is known about my gt.gt. and
gt.gt.gt. grandfather Lewis JOHNSON, prior
to his coming to Kentucky. He bought his
first land in Fleming Co., Ky. in 1810.

If anyone knows anything about Lewis JOHNSON,
i would appreciate hearing from you.
