Will of Thomas Kidd Dated 18 May, 1680, Middlesex County, VA

In the name of God Amen, I Thomas Kid of Rapahanack River in the County of Middlesex, being sick in body byt in perfect health of memory praise be to God for it. Att the makeing of this my will and testament. First I bequeath my soule to God my maker, that gave itt me, and my body the ground, to be berried in a Decent manor. Secondly my will and pleasure is, that my son Thomas Kid ____ shall have my Dwelling house and plantation after his mother's Decease; with foe hundred and Acors of Land adjorning thereto; Likewise my will & pleasure is, that noe parte nor parcell of the Estate shall be Alientated, or disposed of, but that it shall remaine to him and his heires, lawfully begotten or to my Sonne William or (?) his heires, lawfully begotten and case of mortality that neither of my sons Enjoy it, then the whole tract of Lande that is now undivided between my sonns, to be equally Divided betwene my toe Daughters, Elizabeth and Jane; it further my will and pleasure is that my Sonne William Kid have my other plantation with two hundred acroes of land theirto adjoining, further my will is that my son William have the first increase of the mare called genno, and then she and her increase to be Equally Divided between my three children William, Elizabeth and Jane, at theire coming to age, further my will and pleasure is that my sonne Thomas have that horse colte that sires one my other mare called bonny; further my will is that my daughter Elizabeth have a cow called brandy, with her increase, and my son William to have one yearline heafer called by the name of brand's heafor with her increase, further I will and bequeath to my wife Jane Kid, all the rest of my estate; and my wife Jane Kidd to bee the whole Executrice and administrator ______ and after my wifre decease if he be alive I appoint my son Thomas Kid to be gardian to the rest of my children, and Rchard Willis and John Willis to be the overseeres.
