Scrap Kaleidoscope (unfinished size 7 1/2" square) Colors:
4 3/4
" x whatever scraps of contrasting values (dark, medium and light—can be
all one color family if you like) |
|
Cut for each block
- Using the cutting diagram at left cut 4 darks, and 4 medium/light triangles. Use the
triangles marked with an X only. (You can make a template if you like—no need to add
seam allowance)
- for corners cut 2-3" squares and cut them in half diagonally from medium/light
fabric
|
Piece
- Join each dark triangle to a medium/light triangle. Press seam allowances toward dark
triangle.
- Join 2 pairs of triangles to make each half block, joining medium/light fabric to dark
fabric. Join half blocks. Press all seams allowances in the same direction (toward dark
fabric). You now have a hexagon.
If you make more than one block, attach corners to dark triangles in one block, and
medium/light triangles in the next. |
