Hello and welcome to my site, Precious Places, pages which include people, places and issues important in my life. My husband and I, who have been married almost nineteen years reside in Illinois with our four wonderful children. My interests and hobbies include reading, crocheting, needlepoint and crossword puzzles.I also take guided correspondence courses through the University of Iowa. I love collecting Precious Moments figurines and oh yes, I do like cats*S*. My husband has worked at Mitsubishi Motors for the past 10 years. His interests include reading, gardening and taking the kids fishing. We are involved in our children's lives and enjoy doing many activities with them and attending their many sports and school related activities. For our summer vacations we like to travel and rent a cabin by the lake or ocean and our favorite states are Maine, Michigan and Wisconsin.
I am a stay at home mother to our four children who include:

David, who has just entered his first year of college at Eastern Illinois University. He is majoring in Biological Sciences with plans of going into a career in wildlife and fisheries. His favorite hobby is fishing. We are very proud of our son.

Katie, our 11 year old who is entering the 6th grade. Katie also loves participating in sports such as soccer, basketball and softball. Her other interests include reading, art and animals. Katie really enjoys the Harry Potter book series.

Bridget, our seven year old is entering the 2nd grade. She is our little "princess" and loves dressing up in her pretty little dresses and jewelry. She also loves books, coloring, dancing and singing.Bridget loves to read and does very well for her grade level.

Megan, our youngest is five and is entering Kindergarten this year! She loves to play outside and help her dad in the garden. Her favorite shows are Rugrats, Winnie the Pooh and Blues Clues. She also enjoys books, coloring and doing her gymnastics through the house.

We are very proud of our children and they bring us lots of joy and excitement. We also share our house with our cats Whiskers and Bear.Parenting is hard work, but brings with it many rewards and happiness! Follow my links below to find many resources on parenting and visit Pooh's playhouse to find some good links for the kids.
Even though my life has been blessed greatly, for the last 16 years I have suffered from a condition known as panic disorder. For many of these years I suffered alone, not quite understanding what was going on, but after meeting many fine people on the internet who also have panic disorder and anxiety disorders I have found I need not face this condition alone. With further advances in medical treatments, therapy and lots of faith and prayer I have begun to get better and improve the quality of my life. I have a ways to go before I consider myself cured but know I need not face this alone! If you or someone you know suffers from panic disorder or any other anxiety related disorder please read my anxiety and panic disorder pages which will lead you to lots of good information and very supportive people. You need not suffer through this alone. Please feel free to e-mail me also if there are any questions or if you would just like to talk with someone.
Thank you for visiting my site and I hope you enjoy visiting as much as I enjoyed putting it together. Please return soon and I hope you will sign my guestbook on the way out, it is located on my home page.
      Thank You,
      Precious

~A Mother's Prayer to the Guardian Angels of Her Children~

I humbly salute you, O you faithful, heavenly Friends of my children!
I give you heartfelt thanks for all the love and goodness you show them.
At some future day I shall, with thanks more worthy than I can now give,
repay your care for them, and before the whole heavenly court acknowledge
their indebtedness to your guidance and protection.
Continue to watch over them.
Provide for all their needs of body and soul. Pray, likewise,
for me, for my husband, and my whole family,
that we may all one day rejoice in your blessed company.

Amen

"May the road rise up to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warmly on your face,
And, until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand."
