The Queen's Lancashire Regiment was
inaugurated at Connaught Barracks,
Dover on the 25th March 1970. The
Regiment can trace its history back to
Castleton's Regiment, raised in 1689 in
York, through six antecedent regiments.
Our predecessors have served with
distinction in every major theatre and
campaign since 1689, and have earned
203 recognised battle honours, two of
which are unique in the British Army.A Brief History of the Regiment
Overseas deployments have been frequent for the Regiment. Training has been conducted in Australia, Canada, The Gambia, Belize, Kenya and the Oman since 1991. In 1983 and again in 1995 the 1st Battalion had the honour of providing the Royal Guard in London.
