Using any color of Lionbrand Homespun, large ponytail band, and a G hook:

1. Sc around the band an even number to cover it. (I suggest 26). Join with sl st in 1st sc.

2. Ch 2, hdc in same st. Ch 1, skip next sc. *Make 2 hdc in next sc, ch 1, skip next sc. Repeat from * around, join with sl st in top of ch 2.

3. Sl st in next hdc and in first ch 1 sp. Ch 1, sc in same sp. Ch 5, sc in next ch 1 space around, ending with sl st in first sc. Fasten off.

This is not a full scrunchie, as you can see in the picture, but I think it's pretty. And it also uses very little yarn. A nice project for when you have just a bit left over from that homespun blanket or sweater. Wouldn't it be great to have a matching scrunchie to go with your sweater?
