I've been trying to locate the old village of St. Georges, Salop, Shrewsbury for some time. My mother's family settled there in the 1870's or so, and she was born there in l891. great site, unfortunately, server must have been very busy as I could not access open learning family history link. My grandmother was born at Brindley Ford, Wedgewood, Stoke on Trent. Having a heck of time trying to figure out what to do next. Grammy as orphaned at tender age and we only have death aprox. 1875 of her mother Phoebe Walker haven't a clue as to find out more about her mother. Father Was a methodist lay preacher and a foregeman his name was Benjamin Smith and he "disappeared " after wif y diedd leaving kids to be raised by others. Love your website keep upthe good work.
